High Holy Days

Rosh HaShanah, which in Hebrew it translates to “head of the year,” marks the start of the Jewish New Year. It’s a time of celebration and reflection.

Guests and Prospective Members

To continue our year round culture of providing a warm and welcoming community for all, not just temple members, we open our High Holyday family services to the greater Jewish community at no cost. This is an important moment for us each year to live our mission of being a place for all. However, to ensure a safe and secure experience, we ask that all attendees register in advance to help us expedite entry, follow security protocols, and collect emergency contact information. One form: https://forms.gle/v5hA7AEHWnXdMFx28 may be completed for all guests and services.

Our traditional services for Erev Rosh Hashanah, Rosh Hashanah morning (day one only), Kol Nidre, and Yom Kippur morning & afternoon are reserved for Temple Sinai members. Guests may join us in person or virtually by contacting the office to discuss a suggested donation of $250 per person to support Temple Sinai’s. A gift of a purchased ticket allows Temple Sinai to continue its work of providing for the spiritual well being of our community, offer a wide range of important religious, educational, cultural programs and move from strength to strength.

If you wish to attend a ticketed service, contact the office at 860-561-1055 ext 1 or . Please note, we offer reciprocal tickets (no cost) for guests who are members in good standing at another synagogue but plan to be with us during the holidays, just contact the office to coordinate the details. We also offer free tickets to college students under the age of 23 and all members of our US military (must show ID). If you want to be with us, and the suggested donation is a barrier, please speak with Jessica in the office.

Members:

Tickets and information packets are mailed out a couple weeks before Rosh Hashanah. If you plan to purchase additional tickets for friends or family, contact the office after receiving your packet. And remember, you must bring your tickets to every service so you may move through the expedited line and check in before service begins.
