Shabbat services are held on Fridays evenings at 6:00 PM. We often designate the first Friday of each month as a family service. This service is fun for the young and young at heart with lively music and stories. Throughout the year, each religious school class will lead a family service to share with the congregation what they are learning.
Most months, the last Friday is our Music service where Cantor Lipton brings both familiar melodies as well as new and diverse music to our ears. You might find special guest musicians or performers playing along to enhance the ruach (spirit) in our sanctuary. This service is a community favorite.
The remainder of Friday evenings follows a traditional Shabbat format but always be looking at our calendar as we invite often invite guest speakers or enjoy an always popular “Ask the Rabbi” session, or dive deep into subjects like Israel, or celebrate together with services like Pride Shabbat and our Martin Luther King Day Shabbat where we invite clergy and their choirs from nearby churches to collaborate on this important holiday.
Following Friday evening Shabbat services, we invite you to stay for a very tasty oneg and enjoy each other’s company, enhancing the joyful community spirit of the Sabbath. Gluten and dairy free options are included each week.
Shabbat morning services are only held when in conjunction with a bar or bat mitzvah service. Our morning service begins at 10:30 AM and is open to the congregation and community. While the morning service is always in person, it is not always available on Zoom.
